Every time you use your computer - every time you run a program or save a file - you fill up a little more of the disk than before. A lot of data, some of it extraneous and unnecessary, can build up on a drive in an amazingly short period of time, rendering the computer less effective and speedy as time passes. Of course, taking care of the simple things can also be a big help. A search of the internet can reveal an abundance of useful tips on what to clean up and how, such as temporary files, registry clean up, emptying the recycle bin and so on.
